Both land-based and state-wide online sports betting apps were launched on August 15, 2019. Retail sportsbooks have opened for business, and leading sportsbooks have unveiled some absolutely stellar online and mobile sports betting apps. Pennsylvania is becoming one of the hottest online sports betting markets in the United States.
In Virginia, the legal online sports betting became available in January 2021, well over a year before the first brick-and-mortar casinos plan to open in the state.
